Staying Home, Not Staying In

If you aren’t going somewhere warm and tropical this spring break and FOMO is getting to you, we’ve got you covered. Just because you’re staying in Minneapolis doesn’t mean you have to stay home. Here are five things to do in Minneapolis this spring break.

Visit the New Brighton Ice Castles

Want to feel like royalty? Take a quick trip to New Brighton to see the ice castles. Check out the ice sculpture garden, take a ride down one of the ice slides, or walk through the cavernous ice tunnels. Tickets are only $15 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to see the bright lights and tall, towering castle.

Acme Comedy Club

Catch dinner and a show with lots of laughs this spring break. Head down to Acme, one of the top five comedy clubs in the country, near the North Loop in Minneapolis. For 8pm shows on Wednesday and Thursday nights, Acme offers $5 tickets for college students when you show your college ID.

Can Can Wonderland

Grab a group of friends and head over to Can Can Wonderland for drinks, a game of mini golf, and arcade gaming. Can Can offers an 18 hole mini golf course, each hole made with a unique and artistic twist. Or choose to play a game, with their arcade housing over 100 machines. And if all that made you hungry, grab a burger or a shake from their concession stand.

Minneapolis Cider Co

Get your cider and get competitive! Play pickleball with friends at Minneapolis Cider Co, a cidery and taproom located right in Marcy-Holmes. Check them out on Tuesday for Trivia or on Thursday for a free can of cider for every drink purchased when you show your student ID.

Lake of the Isles Ice Skating

Enjoy the Minnesota winter while you can with ice skating on Lake of the Isles! Bundle up in your skates, cutest coat, and scarf and skate with the city skyline right in view. And if the cold does get to you, warm up in one of the lake’s warming houses.
