Hot Take: Affirmations

An affirmation is an intentional statement designed to help you overcome self-sabotaging thoughts. When repeated often, you’re rewiring your brain's thoughts, actions, and behaviors. A lot of our thoughts are uncontrolled, and, whether we recognize them or not, they affect our decision-making and the way we live. We have the capability to change our narrative whenever we want to. Affirmations act as inspiration and everyday reminders of what you want to see more of in your life. Taking control of your thoughts and being present gives you the power to create a better version of yourself.

Taking Action

Don’t know where to begin? Practicing your affirmations daily is key. Try saying them when you wake up or go to bed. Whatever suits you best. I find that when I wake up in the morning and say mine, it helps shift my energy in a positive direction, setting the tone for the day. We’re all subject to hard moments or bad days. By taking a step back and releasing your fears and anxieties, you’re giving yourself a chance to recenter and move forward. So, keep it moving. Flow is everything.
